Hugs for Ghana

Hugs for Ghana, a nonprofit run by Kamiak High School students, holds its annual Culture Night fundraiser, 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Rosehill Community Center, 303 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Cost is $20 at the door. Cultural performances and ethnic food. Proceeds benefit indigent Ghanaian communities. More info: www.hugsforghana.org.

Crazy America: Political science professor Cornell Clayton discusses “Crazy Politics: Populism, Conspiracy Theories, and Paranoia in America,” 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. Clayton’s talk explains the rise of today’s populist and conspiratorial politics, draws parallels to earlier periods, and describes how populism on the left and right differ today. Make a difference: Interested in volunteering in Edmonds? A open house for organizations seeking volunteers is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. April 1 at the Edmonds Historical Museum. There will be representatives from several groups, including Cascadia Art Museum, Clothes for Kids, Edmonds Floretum Garden Club and many more. There also are opportunities to volunteer for events managed by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, including Taste of Edmonds and Heritage Days. The museum is at 118 Fifth Ave., Edmonds.
