Pedestrian killed by truck in Stanwood was Lake Stevens man

STANWOOD — A man who died after being hit by a truck in Stanwood on Friday has been identified as Robert W. Zumwalt, 42, of Lake Stevens.

His death was ruled an accident by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver told investigators that Zumwalt “had just walked across the highway in front of him, and he was not able to stop his truck,” according to the police report.

The crash happened about 7 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 532 and the Pioneer Highway.
