So you’re at the Fisherman’s Village Music Festival and you are soooo hungry. Where to go? What to order?
Here’s a list of some of our favorite downtown Everett restaurants, most within walking distance of the festival venues. Also, be on the lookout for food trucks in the area.
The New Mexicans: 1416 Hewitt Ave.; 425-512-9705; www.facebook.com/TheNewMexicans. From our review — it’s “all about comfort food” — including cinammon rolls, smoked chicken enchiladas, chicken and dumplings, and dessert. And margaritas.
Prohibition Grille and Saloon: 1414 Hewitt Ave.; 425-258-6100; prohibitiongastropub.com. This is the Everett restaurant that Gordon Ramsay and his Kitchen Nightmares show visited about four years ago and renamed the Gastropub. Now it’s back to the Grille. The bourbon-glazed pork shoulder is one Ramsay’s suggestions.
Sol Food Bar &Grill: 1405 Hewitt Ave.; solfoodbarandgrill.com. South American and Caribbean food.
Kama’aina Grindz: 2933 Colby Ave.; 425-322-5280; kamaainagrindz.com. This is our favorite Hawaiian restaurant. The award-winning chef produces amazing new specials each week. The house ice tea is inexpensive and refreshing.
The Irishmen: 2923 Colby Ave.; 425-374-5783; theirishmen.com. An authentic Irish pub with bangers and mash, colcannon, pasties, shepherds pie, fish and chips, and Guinness-braised beef stew.
Cafe Wylde: 2918 Hoyt; 425-374-3877; www.cafewylde.com. Get the wild berry smoothie. It’s pricey, but so good, as are all the vegan meals here.
Choux Choux Bakery: 2900 Grand Ave.; 425-322-5805; chouxchouxbakery.com. Get here early for a delightful selection of morning pastries and lunch sandwiches.
Black Lab Gallery: 1618 Hewitt Ave.; 425-512-9476; blacklabgallery.com. One the festival’s venues, this sweet place sells coffee, wine, beer, soup, beans and rice, and pastries.
Tony V’s Garage: 1712 Hewitt Ave.; 425-374-3567; www.facebook.com/tonyvs.garage. Try the steak and eggs, burgers and more. This is another of the concert venues. Listen and eat.
The Independent Beer Bar: 1801 Hewitt Ave.; www.theindependentbeerbar.com. Not much food, lots of great beer. You can order Sa-Nae Thai food and it will be added to your bar tab.
Brooklyn Bros. Pizzeria: 1919 Hewitt Ave.; 425-258-6900; bbpmenu.com. Authentic New York-style pizza with great toppings.
Anchor Pub: 1001 Hewitt Ave.; 425-374-2580; www.facebook.com/AnchorPubEverett. Here’s another festival venue that offers good pub food.
Soundview Bar &Grill: 1116 Hewitt Ave.; 425-259-3383; www.facebook.com/Soundview-Bar-Grill. Order the bacon cheeseburger. Near the Anchor.
J Ramen &Sushi: 1011 Hewitt Ave.; 425-338-0228; www.facebook.com/JRamenandSushi. It’s a no-brainer. Sushi and ramen. Also near the Anchor.
Vintage Cafe: 1510 Hewitt Ave.; 425-252-8224; www.thevintagecafe.net. Breakfast. Pot roast. Fish and chips. Large portions.
Kai Sushi — Fusion Roll &Sake: 2811 Colby Ave.; 425-374-7949; www.kaisushiroll.com. Sushi, noodles, teriyaki.
El Paraiso: 2801 Colby Ave.; 425-252-6026. Great Mexican food place near the performing arts center and many of the festival shows on Saturday. Tip the woman who makes your fresh, hot tortilla as you walk in the door. She is a sweetheart and generous with the butter.
Strawberry Patch Cafe: 2718 Colby Ave.; 425-339-2257; www.facebook.com/strawberrypatchcafe. Try the fried pickles, chicken-fried bacon, Nutella milkshakes, pollo manipesto on a grilled roll.
The Valley Organic Deli: 2805 Colby Ave.; 425-512-8577; valleyorganicdeli.com. Open until 5 or 6 p.m., this is primarily a lunch place. The food is fresh and healthy. Good smoothies, sandwiches and salads.
Snax: 2701 Wetmore Ave.; 425-374-7086; www.EatAtSnax.com. Located across the street from the performing arts center, this is a quick place for gourmet hot dogs, root beer and ice cream, all made in the region.
