Highway 9 open house
Washington State Department of Transportation staff plan an open house to discuss design options for improvements to the Highway 9 and Highway 204 intersection, from 6 to 8 p.m. May 11 at Hillcrest Elementary School, 9315 Fourth St. SE, Lake Stevens. Run event: Cross Out Cancer, a 5k run and walk event, is Saturday at Warren G. Magnuson Park in Seattle. Proceeds benefit families who have children receiving cancer treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Cost to participate is $25, $35 on race day. Everett High School senior Val Cornejo leads the Greater Seattle chapter of Cross Out Cancer. Learn more at www.xoutcancerseattle.com.
Discover EdCC: Discover Edmonds Community College Day invites people to experience life as a Triton from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday. There’s a powwow and baseball game at 1 p.m., an open house at Rainier Place Residence Hall from 3 to 6 p.m., a resource fair at 3:30 p.m. outside Snoqualmie Hall, and campus tours throughout the late afternoon.
