Ribbon cutting at Meadowdale park
The community is invited to join Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith, the City Council and Parks and Recreation staff to celebrate improvements to Meadowdale Neighborhood Park, 5700 168th St. SW. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The city added a new picnic shelter and more parking.

Open house at MPHS’ new cafeteria
A community open house for the new Food Commons at Marysville Pilchuck High School will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday . The event will be an opportunity to tour the space and talk with students and staff from the school and school district.
Representatives from other local governments and organizations will be present, and DECA students are scheduled to open the store and cafe for the event.

Everett schools showcase learning
The Everett School District’s “Innovation Expo” runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Xfinity Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave. Each school in the district will host a booth to showcase what its students are learning. There will be a student project competition on the arena floor; the public can view those projects from 6 to 7 p.m.

Toiletries drive to benefit homeless
The YWCA is collecting donations of hygienic supplies in preparation for this year’s Project Homeless Connect. Needed are full-size body wash, 2-in-1 shampoo, lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, washcloths and razors for shaving.
Drop off donations by June 22 at YWCA locations at 3301 Broadway in Everett or 6027 208th St. SW in Lynnwood.

MEETING
Cohousing proposal is taking shape
Port Gardner Cohousing is holding an informational meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the classroom at the Sno-Isle Food Co-op, 2804 Grand Ave., Everett. This is an introductory meeting for people interested in learning more about cohousing in Everett.
Cohousing is an intentional community, focused on building relationships and reducing carbon footprints. This is a fledgling group, whose housing plans are in their infancy. The group plans to meet every first Wednesday to share ideas.
