Garden fun: 1 to 3 p.m. July 22, Evergreen Arboretum at Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Music by guitarist Marco Cortes, games, printmaking art and tours of the garden. Master gardeners will be on hand to show bugs, nature books will be available from Everett Public Library so kids can read to dogs, Baile Folklore will teach dances, you can watch artist Janet Hamilton paint and KidStage will offer theater games. Water and popcorn will be served. A scavenger hunt is planned by the arboretum’s volunteers. More at www.evergreenarboretum.com.

Sequim Lavender Festival: Tours of various lavender farms 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. July 22-23 in Sequim. Street fair with food, arts and crafts, and agricultural items. Live music at “Lavenderstock,” including a street dance from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Other community events all weekend. More at www.lavenderfestival.com.

Sustainability fair: Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE., Everett, is open to the public for the first time, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29. Music, prizes and lessons on how to become stewards of natural resources. Pick up a sustainability passport for entry to 25 different learning stations. Free. More at www.streamkeeper.org.

Marvelous tour: Mid-Century Marvels Architecture Tour, 10 a.m. July 29, 2730 Wetmore Ave., Everett. Refreshments served during the introduction. Members of Historic Everett or Docomomo WEWA can buy tickets for $10; non-members $15. Tickets are available on Brown Paper Tickets or will be sold the day of the tour, though space is limited. Snohomish County Dahlia Show: 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 19 and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Floral Hall at Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. Display of more than 2,500 dahlias as single blooms, triple blooms, five blooms in baskets and in artistic arrangements. Prizes are awarded to winning entries.
