Stealth re-sign Martin

The Washington Stealth announced the re-signing of defenseman Eric Martin to a two-year contract on Friday. The deal is pending league approval.
Martin, a left-handed defenseman has spent all seven of his NLL seasons with the Stealth. Martin has proven to not only be a valuable defender, but
also a threat on the offensive end of the floor as well. In each of the last six seasons, Martin has tallied ten or more points, including a 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 2011.
Defensively, Martin collected 92 looseballs and forced 18 turnovers in 13 regular-season games last year.
“Eric is a tremendous competitor and has developed into one of the top defenseman in the NLL,” Stealth general manager Doug Locker said. “While his statistics speak for themselves, what the numbers don’t show is his commitment, passion and work ethic and we could not be happier to have him wearing a Stealth jersey into the forseeable future.”
Martin was selected by the Stealth in the second round (12th overall pick) of the 2004 NLL Entry Draft. In 102 career regular-season games Martin has accumulated 98 points (24 goals, 74 assists). He is sixth all-time in Stealth history with 782 looseballs collected.
