Town clock dedication

The Downtown Arlington Business Association has donated a town clock to the city and has installed it on Olympic Avenue near City Hall.

The group’s clock dedication ceremony is set for 11 a.m. Saturday.

Leaf artwork for kids: The Plant Farm at Smokey Point Kids’ Club is planning leaf impression artwork class for kids Saturday.

In addition to creating art from leaves, kids also will have the chance to learn about different types of leaves from an instructor. The class starts at 11 a.m. and costs $5 per child.

Poetry slam set: Poets of all ages can be part of a poetry slam Sept. 18 at the Snohomish Library.

The event is scheduled at 2 p.m. and hosted by Jim Freeman. All poets who recite will receive a gift for participating.

The Snohomish Library is located at 311 Maple Ave.

Adult education classes: Everett Community College is planning to offer adult education and GED classes starting Sept. 19. The college also offers an online class to help students prepare to take the GED, and evening classes in Arlington at Weston High School and in Monroe at Park Place Middle School.
