Overnight closures are planned on southbound I-5 in south Snohomish County this week as crews continue work on improvements to the 128th Street SW and 196th Street SW interchanges.

In south Everett, crews plan to close the southbound I-5 off-ramp to 128th Street SW for up to three nights Monday through Thursday for striping. The ramp will close at 10 p.m. and will open at 5 a.m. the following morning. Drivers will follow a signed detour using southbound I-5, 164th Street SW and northbound I-5.

Crews also plan to close the on-ramp from 128th Street SW to southbound I-5 on Monday or Wednesday night from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping work. Drivers will follow a signed detour using northbound I-5, Everett Mall Way, and the westbound Highway 527 ramp to southbound I-5.

In Lynnwood, crews are scheduled to close two lanes of southbound I-5 near the I-405 interchange Monday through Thursday nights to complete drainage work. The carpool lane will close at 8 p.m. and the left lane will close at 10 p.m. Crews will reopen all lanes by 5 a.m. the next day.

Crews are adding a left-turn lane to the southbound I-5 off-ramp to 128th Street SW. For more information, see the state’s Web page for the project.

In Lynnwood, crews are building new on- and off-ramps to help separate merging traffic and reduce the risk of collisions near the busy 196th Street SW interchange. For more information, see the state’s project page.
