Highway 522 closure cancelled for tonight

A closure of Highway 522 in Monroe planned for tonight has been cancelled.

As of now, the state Department of Transportation is still planning to close the highway at the U.S. 2 interchange from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights for a widening project.

The work is part of the $23 million widening and safety project for the interchange of Highway 522 and U.S. 2. Crews are building a new direct ramp from eastbound Highway 522 to eastbound U.S. 2: the state’s project page.
