With a huge boost from the Paris Air Show, Airbus logged 601 jet orders in June, bringing its mid-year tally to 640 net orders.

The jet maker cancelled off its backlog an order, worth nearly $6 billion, from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, according to an update on Airbus’ Website on Thursday. The leasing firm had placed requests for roughly 200 jets with Airbus and the Boeing Co. in 2007.

However, DAE already had canceled some of those orders. Boeing still lists 56 unfilled requests through the end of May on its backlog.

Airbus leads Boeing in net orders through the first half of 2011, with 777 gross orders. The European company has recorded 137 cancellations in the first six months of the year. Through June 30, Boeing has 230 gross orders and 171 net requests.

Airbus has delivered 258 jets through the end of June.
