Boeing leads Airbus in orders race going into air show

Airbus trails the Boeing Co. in jet orders going into the Paris Air Show this month.

The European jet maker has 97 net orders through the end of May, Airbus reported Wednesday. Boeing has 133 net orders through the first five months of 2011.

Airbus tends to save up orders to announce at the air show, which takes place later this month.

Airbus leads Boeing in jet deliveries for the first five months of the year with 217 aircraft delivered compared to Boeing’s 180.
