Driver allegedly backs into deputy’s motorcycle during traffic stop

LAKE STEVENS — A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy was not injured Monday when his motorcycle was hit by a driver who apparently didn’t want a ticket.

The deputy pulled over a silver Range Rover with expired tabs around 11:30 a.m. Monday near 79th Avenue SE and 20th Street SE in Lake Stevens.

A man in his 30s reportedly backed the Range Rover into the deputy’s motorcycle before taking off, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

The man’s vehicle was later found in the Frontier Village area, Hover said. Deputies and Lake Stevens police were looking for him Monday night.
