Airbus receives first A350 main landing gear

Airbus has received the first set of A350 XWB main landing gear produced by Messier-Dowty .

This represents another step forward in the A350 XWB program. Last month, Airbus received the nose landing gear for the A350-900 from Liebherr.

Both sets of landing gear will soon be installed together into the landing gear systems test-rig, paving the way for integration testing to begin towards the end of 2011.

These tests will be carried out to demonstrate reliability and maturity, and will also provide evidence for certification, Airbus said Thursday in a press statement.
