WTO to publish its ruling Thursday in Boeing-Airbus trade dispute

The World Trade Organization will release its ruling Thursday in a trade dispute between the Boeing Co. and Airbus.

The WTO made its initial ruling in January on whether Boeing received illegal aid from the U.S. government. The U.S. and European Union were given copies of the ruling, which was not released publicly. Airbus claimed victory while Boeing said the WTO rejected most of Airbus’ complaint.

In a separate case, Boeing has accused the EU of giving Airbus illegal launch aid for its commercial jet programs.

Analysts believe it could be years before the two complaints are resolved, as both rulings are subject to appeal.
