Wanted: The finest chicken coops in north Everett

Cluck, cluck, cluck: Do you have a cool chicken coop in your north Everett yard?

Everett’s second-annual Coop of Dreams Tour is looking for coops to feature on July 23.

Tour a local gem: Volunteers with the Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens in Everett are taking reservations for free 2011 tours.

Group tours are available all year by calling 425-257-8597. Drop-in Saturday tours begin June 4 and leave from the blue entrance column area of the arboretum at 1 p.m.

There is no charge, but donations to the Evergreen Arboretum Foundation are welcome.

Plant pro speaks: Dan Hinkley, one of the Northwest’s most famous plant experts, will speak from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, 4515 84th St. SW, Mukilteo, as part of the Snohomish County Master Gardener Sustainable Gardening Speaker Series.

The Heronswood nursery founder, plant collector, world traveler and Indianola gardener has titled his talk, “The World Condensed: Life in a Pacific Northwest Garden.”

Tickets will be sold at the door for $20 while space remains.
