Airbus thinks Europe is due $45 billion in compensation from the United States in a trade dispute between the France-based jet maker and its rival, the Boeing Co.

The World Trade Organization is expected to release its final report Monday in a trade dispute between jet makers Boeing and Airbus.

A spokeswoman for Airbus told reporters Tuesday that the European company sees $45 billion as a realistic figure for compensation.

Boeing and Airbus have accused one another of benefiting from illegal subsidies provided by their governments.

Boeing wants the WTO ruling to be factored into the ongoing U.S. Air Force tanker contest between the Chicago-based aerospace company and Airbus’ parent company, EADS.
