Pancakes for a cause
Proceeds from a Norwegian Pancake Breakfast this month will benefit the Hungry Hearts Foundation. The breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 2111 117th Ave. NE, Lake Stevens. Cost is $6; children under age 4 are free.
Hungry Hearts is a Lake Stevens nonprofit that helps feed school-age children in the Lake Stevens School District.

Dine with the King
The Carl Gipson Senior Center offers Dinner with Elvis at 6 p.m. Saturday . Local Elvis impersonator Shane Cobane performs favorite hits. Tickets are $17 for dinner and the show or $7 for show only.

Kite festival on Whidbey
The Whidbey Island Kite Festival runs Saturday and Sunday at Camp Casey in Coupeville. Watch sport kite competitions and a teddy bear drop, enjoy games, learn to fly a kite and more.

Donate to the USO
The Camano Island Women’s Republican Club hosts a fundraiser for USO Northwest at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Island Library, 848 N Sunrise Blvd. USO Executive Director Don Leingang will speak. Admission is free and no RSVP is required. All donations and raffle proceeds will go directly to the USO Northwest’s Sea-Tac Airport Center, which supports military members and their families.

Help at visitor centers
The Snohomish County Tourism Bureau seeks volunteers to staff its Visitor Information Centers in Snohomish and at the Future of Flight in Mukilteo. Volunteers are needed for weekly three- to four-hour shifts. Training is provided, along with fun tours around the county.

Be a library’s friend
Friends of the Library are nonprofit volunteer groups that help support and promote local library programs. Each local library branch — in the Sno-Isle Libraries and Everett Public Library systems — has a Friends group.
In 2015, Sno-Isle Friends groups raised more than $250,000 for local library programs and events, summer reading programs, furniture, technology and more.
Groups typically meet monthly and often have guest speakers. Some charge modest membership dues.
