CLINTON — A man accused of two armed robberies was arrested Monday, in the parking lot of the gas station he’s suspected of robbing twice.
A gunman in a puffy black coat pointed a long-barrelled revolver at a clerk of Naomi’s gas station on the night of Oct. 31, in the 11100 block of Highway 525. Less than two weeks later, the gas station was robbed again. The gunman wore the same black coat, the same gray hoodie and the same sunglasses with translucent yellow stripes. He had the same heavy build and what appeared to be the same long-barrelled revolver.
The Island County Sheriff’s Office released photos from the robberies, in search of tips from the public.
A Langley police officer spotted a car with its lights off on a dirt road by the gas station around 10 p.m. Monday. The officer pulled over the car in the parking lot of Naomi’s.
The driver, 24, matched the man in the security footage. He had a handgun hidden under the front seat, alongside a black puffy jacket.
The suspect was arrested for investigation of first-degree robbery.
