LYNNWOOD — For those with nonviolent warrants, Lynnwood is offering a small break for the holidays.
The city’s Municipal Court will waive recall fees — a $50 to $100 bill — for people who show up to have a warrant cleared from Dec. 1 to Dec. 31. The case must be through Lynnwood Municipal Court, and it can’t involve an assault or a charge with a sexual motivation.
To verify if a warrant is active, call the court at 425-670-5100. Or check online at ci.lynnwood.wa.us, where the city has posted a 73-page list of the names of people who are wanted. About half of those cases are more than a year old.
To clear the warrant, go to the court clerk’s office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a weekday, with a valid photo ID. The court is on the second floor of the city’s police station, 19321 44th Ave. W.
A new court date will be given to people who participate in the amnesty program. Failing to show up for the new hearing can result in another warrant being issued.
