Alderwood mall again hit by theft

LYNNWOOD — For the second time in two days, a store at Alderwood mall was robbed of an expensive watch, according to police.

A man had been looking at a Rolex timepiece in Arc Watch Works & Engraving around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday when he ran off without paying, according to Lynnwood police.

An employee chased him to a car waiting in the parking lot, police said. Two men in the car pulled the employee off the thief. They drove off.

Moments later police got a call about a suspicious car outside Kohl’s. Three people in the car were arrested: two men for investigation of robbery, and a woman for investigation of possessing stolen property, from another recent theft in Seattle. A third man couldn’t be found.

Police said the case doesn’t appear connected to another dramatic robbery of watches, two shoe stores and a Yankee Candle store. On Tuesday two men rushed into a Ben Bridge with a hammer around 5:30 p.m., shattered a glass display case and pilfered watches. They fled. Detectives still are investigating.
