EVERETT — A family of six was displaced after a fire broke out in the attic of their south Everett home on Sunday morning.

No one was injured. The local chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting the family of two adults and four children, said Leslie Hynes, a spokeswoman for South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue.

Crews were dispatched around 8 a.m. to a house on the 600 block of 105th St. SW. Firefighters from Everett and Fire District 7 assisted on the call near Evergreen Way and SW Everett Mall Way.

Damage was estimated at $10,000, Hynes said. The Snohomish County fire marshal investigated.
