LYNNWOOD — A driver threatened a stranger with a pistol in Lynnwood, leading to an arrest — and a drug bust that netted methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine from his car, police said.

A man in his 30s reported a silver Mercedes Benz had almost hit him in a crosswalk around 11:20 p.m. Monday at Highway 99 and 188th Street SW. The driver made a U-turn, pointed a gun at the pedestrian and asked if he “wanted to die tonight,” according to Lynnwood police.

Minutes later, Edmonds police caught up to the car. The driver, 26, reported he thought the man threw something at him. He denied having a gun. However, police said they saw a box of ammo inside the car. The man was arrested for investigation of felony harassment.

A search warrant for the car revealed about 7 ounces of meth, 1 ounce of cocaine and a little under an ounce of heroin, Deputy Chief Jim Nelson said. A black pistol and $766 in cash were recovered, too. The gun was loaded.

The Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office will decide if the suspect will be charged with possessing drugs with intent to deliver.
