LYNNWOOD — A 56-year-old man was arrested in Lynnwood on Wednesday night after allegedly threatening people with a firearm. Someone else in the group opened fire during the melee, but no one was hit. The second man was arrested Thursday.

The first man’s weapon later was determined to be a pellet gun, Lynnwood police Sgt. Sean Doty said.

The incident started about 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Rodeo Inn on Highway 99. Police were told the first man was causing a disturbance, Doty said. At one point, the man got into a vehicle and began driving. The other man pulled the gun and fired several shots. Another vehicle and a nearby store were hit by bullets.

The motel was evacuated while police searched for the shooter, described as being in his 20s. He eluded them until Thursday, when he was found and arrested at a motel in Everett. He was booked for investigation of assault and illegal firearm possession as a felon.
