LYNNWOOD — Police believe a robber struck his second Lynnwood bank in five days Monday afternoon.

The robber did not flash a weapon when he demanded cash at a U.S. Bank at 1:25 p.m. on 196th Street SW, according to Lynnwood police.

An employee handed over money, and the robber escaped.

Two hours later police released a security camera photo, and announced it appeared to be the same man who robbed a Wells Fargo last week. He had been wearing dark-rimmed glasses when he struck the branch around 4 p.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of 196th Street SW, about a mile east of the U.S. Bank.

He’s described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s, 5-foot-8 to 6-foot, with blondish hair and a medium to heavy build. The photo from Monday showed him wearing a checkered scarf and a soft zip-up jacket.

Police searched the area for the man. It was at least the fourth bank robbery in three weeks in Lynnwood.
