HEADS UP
Work to start on Lynnwood roundabouts
Construction is expected to start Monday on two roundabouts on Highway 524 (Filbert Road), at Locust Way and Larch Way.
Nighttime work is expected to last until late summer, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
There also will also be two separate weekend closures of Highway 524 during the project, one at each intersection. Dates are not yet set.
The $5 million state project aims to reduce collisions and slow drivers down.

Art show in Arlington
Artists from the Marysville and Arlington art guilds along with independent artists will be showcasing and selling their works at Art Show at the Stilly, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Stillaguamish Senior Center in Arlington.

Afrolatino Festival in Lynnwood
The Afrolatino Festival returns to Lynnwood, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the baseball field west of Cedar Valley Community School, 19200 56th Ave. W.
The free family event features dance, art, history and music representing a variety of Afro-Latino cultures. Kids activities and salsa lessons are among the highlights.

Marysville Police hold a Coffee with a Cop event at 10 a.m. Monday at The Creamery Co. Coffee House, 1206 State Ave., in the Safeway Plaza.

Explore animal sounds
A program for school-age kids will explore animal sounds of the Northwest.
The event is set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Mariner Library, 520 128th St. SW in south Everett.
It also will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Mukilteo Library, 2 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Mountlake Terrace Library and 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Lynnwood Library.

Chicken dinner time
A family chicken dinner is offered 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.
Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, coleslaw, roll, drink and dessert for $9, $8 seniors, $5 children younger than 12.
Proceeds benefit senior center programs and services. Enjoy entertainment, too.
