Group honors county’s Breastfeeding Friendly Employers

In honor of National Breastfeeding Month, the Breastfeeding Coalition of Snohomish County has honored several local companies as Breastfeeding Friendly Employers. Companies were nominated by employees.
Different levels of awards were given based on a employer’s response to the need to support working mothers who are breastfeeding. Awards ranged from Bronze, for companies just learning about the need and responding, to Gold, for those with robust programs.
Bronze: Economic Alliance Snohomish County, IHOP, Ross, United Way
Silver: Puget Sound Kidney Center, Tulalip Tribes, Tulalip Resort and Casino, YWCA
Gold: Boeing, Pacific Wellness and Lactation, Pregnancy Aid WIC, Snohomish Health District, Tulalip Data Services
The companies will be recognized at an annual fall conference.
