EVERETT — A new mudslide on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks south of Everett has shut down Amtrak passenger train traffic between Seattle and Everett. A different mudslide had covered the tracks on Friday. Amtrak officials say the tracks are used by Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder trains.

Another landslide also affected Amtrak service between Kelso and Portland, Oregon.

Amtrak says they are providing alternate transportation with chartered buses.

They expect all the tracks to reopen Monday.
