MUKILTEO — A man accused of assault eventually surrendered to police Thursday after a SWAT team surrounded his home.
The incident began around 11 a.m. after a report of a disturbance in the 900 block of Third Street.
Officers learned that a 44-year-old woman had been assaulted, reportedly by the suspect. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released.
The suspect — a 36-year-old Everett man — refused to open the door for officers and barricaded himself inside the residence, Mukilteo police said in a press release. Mukilteo requested assistance from the North Sound Metro SWAT Team.
