More overnight rolling slowdowns coming to I-5
As Seattle City Light continues to relocate overhead power lines to support Sound Transit’s Lynnwood Link Extension project, I-5 traffic will be affected between Lynnwood and north Seattle. The rolling slowdowns, conducted by Washington State Patrol troopers, will start at 11:59 p.m.Tuesday and last until 4 a.m. Wednesday, and then again 11:59 p.m.Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday.
The following on-ramps will also be affected: southbound I-5: 44th Avenue West in Lynnwood, 220th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace and Highway 104 at Shoreline.
And northbound I-5: Northeast 175th Street, 5th Avenue Northeast in Shoreline and Northeast Northgate Way in Seattle.
Drivers should expect delays and consider using alternate routes during construction. Real-time traffic information is available on the WSDOT mobile app.

A game night to remember, to act
The Snohomish Health District is hosting Overdose Prevention Night at the Everett AquaSox game Aug. 31, which is International Overdose Awareness Day.
The AquaSox will play the Vancouver Canadians.
Along with special messages during the game, the concourse will feature tables with information about opioids and resources in Snohomish County. The information includes the “10 Things to Know About Opioids” campaign developed by the Snohomish County Opioid Response Multi-Agency Coordination “MAC” Group. Attendees will be invited to answer questions to be entered into a raffle for prizes from the AquaSox and Funko.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. at Funko Field at Everett Memorial Stadium, 3802 Broadway.
A fireworks show is scheduled after the game.

Mill Creek Latino parade
Watch dancers take the street when the Hispanic Latino Heritage Parade makes its way through Mill Creek Town Center starting at 2 p.m. Sept. 7.
The event, which is being organized by Gold Creek Community Church, will celebrate Hispanic-Latino culture through food and traditional music.
The parade is scheduled to begin at the LA Fitness parking lot, at 15024 Main St., and end at City Hall, at 15728 Main St.
A festival is planned after the parade, at 4:30 p.m. at Gold Creek Community Church, 4326 148th St. SE. It will feature a variety of traditional foods, music, dancers and other entertainment for the entire family.
This celebration is planned as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
