HEADS UP

Fall back, check smoke alarms

Daylight Saving Time reverts to standard time Sunday. Set your clock back an hour, and gain an hour of sleep or work or play on Sunday. It also means darkness will set in an hour earlier.

Take time to check your smoke alarms. Replace batteries every six months unless otherwise noted by the manufacturer.

Test all smoke alarms at least once a month. Press the test button to be sure the alarm is working.

This is also a good time to make a home fire-escape plan.

These safety things can easily be done in that extra hour you gain.

Improve Sounder stations

Sound Transit has evaluated more than 50 potential projects to improve parking and access to Edmonds and Mukilteo stations so that more people can ride Sounder trains.

Examples of projects already completed near both locations include new parking locations, bike facilities and sidewalks.

The agency will continue to gather input online through Monday.
