Impending impeachment draws a crowd in Everett, other cities

Wednesday’s debate and vote on the two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump were preceded by rallies in cities nationwide, including planned gatherings Tuesday evening in Everett, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Bothell and Langley. They were sponsored by a coalition of organizations in favor of removing Trump from office.

On Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., there will be procedural votes and debate Wednesday before the actual votes on the articles of impeachment, which are expected in the late afternoon Pacific time.

How the delegation is expected to vote

The 10 members of the U.S. House of Representatives from Washington are splitting along party lines when it comes to voting on the articles of impeachment.

The seven Democrats in the delegation told The Associated Press they plan to vote yes on both articles of impeachment. They include all three representing parts of Snohomish County — Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Everett; Rep. Suzan DelBene, D-Medina; and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Seattle.

All three House Republicans from Washington said they will vote no on the articles of impeachment.
