EVERETT — In his first game since being promoted from Low-A Modesto, Robert Perez Jr. blasted a two-run home run to center field in a four-run eighth inning as the Everett AquaSox pulled away for an 8-3 win over the Hillsboro Hops on Tuesday afternoon at Funko Field.

The AquaSox offense pounded out 10 total hits to back a quality outing from Bryan Woo. Also making his first appearance after a promotion from Low-A Modesto, Woo allowed one unearned run on four hits in five innings. The 22-year-old right-hander struck out five and did not walk a batter.

Ben Ramirez drew a bases-loaded walk in the first, Spencer Lavey hit a two-run home run in the second and Marysville Pilchuck alum Trent Tingelstad added an RBI single in the third as the AquaSox took a 4-0 lead.

The Hops chipped away with one run in the fourth and two more in the seventh to cut the deficit to 4-3 before the AquaSox pulled away for good in the eighth.

Tingelstad finished 2-for-3 with two walks and two RBI, Alberto Rodriguez added two doubles and rehabbing Seattle Mariners reliever Ken Giles struck out two in one clean inning pitched for Everett (48-48).

Caleb Roberts went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI for Hillsboro (40-55).
