LYNNWOOD — An abandoned Alfy’s Pizza in Lynnwood was destroyed after an early Thursday morning fire, authorities said.

The fire at the restaurant at 4820 196th St. SW was reported around 1:35 a.m., South County Fire spokesperson Leslie Hynes said. When firefighters arrived, the building was engulfed in flames and the roof was starting to collapse.

No injuries were reported, Hynes said. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the restaurant. Some gas pumps at the neighboring ampm station were damaged.

The property had a taxable value of about $2 million, with about three-quarters of that coming from the land, according to the Snohomish County Assessor’s Office.

The building was built in 1978, records show.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Thursday afternoon.
