EVERETT — No one was injured in a fire early Sunday morning at a strip mall along Evergreen Way in Everett.

A security guard just before 3:30 a.m. reported seeing smoke from the roof of the building in the 10100 block of Evergreen Way.

Firefighters found flames in the attic above the Toyama Sushi restaurant, which spread to the business next door, according to the Everett Fire Department. Crews were able to prevent the blaze from spreading, but both businesses had fire, smoke and water damage.

The fire was under investigation.
