EVERETT — A semi truck caught fire Thursday morning along northbound I-5 just south of the Highway 526 interchange in Everett.
Traffic was backed up for 5 miles, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The carpool lane was open to all traffic because of the closure of the two farthest right lanes.
The transportation department recommended other routes, such as Highway 99.
We've got a semi truck fire on northbound I-5 around the area of the South #Everett Park and Ride, a bit south of the SR 99/526/527 interchange (milepost 188).
The right two lanes are blocked while the fire department works to put out the fire.
