EVERETT — Police say a woman was accidentally stabbed Tuesday morning after an altercation broke out between three people near a Walmart.
Around 10:57 a.m. Tuesday, Arlington police responded to reports of a stabbing at the 4900 block of 168th Street. When they arrived, they found a woman who had been stabbed, according to an Arlington Police Department social media post.
The male suspect, 41, allegedly tackled a woman, who was outside eating an apple with a pocket knife, that he suspected stole his wallet. Court documents said it appeared that they were fighting over possession of the knife. The woman told police she feared he would kill her.
The woman attempted to stab the male suspect with the knife, but accidently hit a woman standing nearby in the leg, court documents said.
The victim was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for non-life-threatening injuries.
The male suspect was booked into Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree assault, the post said.
