EVERETT — Arlington High School students were given immediate college admission decisions during the district’s first “On-the-Spot” event with Washington State University on Dec. 5, a press release said.

The university’s admissions team admitted eight seniors during the event. Western Washington University will visit the high school on Saturday for the next On-the-Spot Admissions event.

Around 12 students have already registered with room for more.

“This new approach brings colleges directly to students, removing barriers and giving seniors real-time clarity about their next steps after graduation,” said Brian Long, the district’s director of college and career readiness.

More On-the-Spot opportunities are expected to take place but have yet to be scheduled.
