Airbus announced an order from BOC Aviation for 30 of its A320 aircraft.

The announcement comes just a day after BOC Aviation ordered eight 777s from Boeing.

The Singapore-based leasing company will take delivery of the A320s over a three-year period beginning in 2012.

“The current order is timely as the aviation industry has returned to profitability and airlines are looking to add capacity,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation, in a statement.

Including the latest purchase agreement, BOC Aviation has now ordered 128 A320 aircraft directly from Airbus, of which 80 have been delivered. The lessor also has five A330-200F freighters on firm order for delivery from 2012.
