ALBANY, Ore. — Pacific Cast Technologies Inc. said it laid off workers this week due to significant changes in production schedules at Boeing Co. and other aerospace market changes.
Pacific Cast officials did not say how many workers were affected but the Albany Democrat-Herald reported it could be as many as 70 employees.
Pacific Cast Technologies specializes in titanium casting for the aerospace industry, with sales to both U.S. and international markets.
Founded in 1968 as TiLine Corp., it has undergone a series of buyouts and name changes before it was acquired by the Ladish Co. of Cudahy, Wis., in 2000.
Employees were notified on Thursday and Friday of the plant-wide reduction that included both office and production personnel.
The company said employees who were laid off received severance packages.
