Briefs: Bastyr instructor appointed to Cascade College board

Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Sabine Thomas on Oct. 3 to the Cascadia College Board of Trustees. Thomas is the executive director of the Washington Association for Infant Mental Health. She has been an instructor and research associate with Bastyr University as well as a private practitioner. Her term on the board ends September 2021.

County receives awards from disability committee

Snohomish County received two awards from the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment at its annual award ceremony on Oct. 7. The awards were the 2016 Governor’s Public Employer Award for the Departments of Human Services and Human Resources, Snohomish County, and the 2016 Employment Support Professional to Sue Anne Lemkin, Supported Employment Coordinator for the Department of Human Resources, Snohomish County.

Summit planned in Woodinville on urban food-energy-water

The public is invited to learn about the local interdependence of food, energy, and water at the morning session of the Urban Food-Energy-Water Summit.
