Briefs: New owner of long-time Everett salon

BreCyn Salon in Everett is preparing to celebrate its first full year of ownership under Emily Douglas, who took over from previous owner Cyndi Mitchell in January. In the last year, Douglas has implemented several improvements at the salon at 8300 Beverly Blvd., Everett. She created a website, brought in online booking and hired more stylists.

Open house scheduled for master plan on UW Bothell, Cascadia College

Community members, civic and business leaders, neighbors, and the campus communities of University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College are invited to attend an open house-style meeting on the upcoming Environmental Impact Statement for the 2017 joint campus master plan. The event is 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday at North Creek Events Center on UW Bothell/Cascadia College campus. Parking is $3.

Bothell’s Foggy Noggin releases seasonal favorite

Foggy Noggin Brewing in Bothell has re-released a seasonal favorite. Oski Wow-Wow is brewed in the Scottish traditional manner and features toffee and caramel flavors. This beer will run about six to eight weeks. Pint and growler sales are available at the brewery tasting room and will also be available at some tap accounts over the next two months.

Dutch Bros. Coffee raises $220,000 for breast cancer research

For the month of October, all 272 Dutch Bros. Coffee locations partnered with their communities to raise $220,451 to support the advancement of breast cancer research and patient support at both the Oregon Health and Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute and California-based nonprofit Albie Aware. The Oregon-headquartered coffee company is opening a location in Everett.
