“Brain Rules: 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School” by John Medina, recommended by Louise Stanton-Masten, president of the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce

“Medina is a professor of bioengineering at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His approach is to take the biology of the brain and show how it relates to work and everyday life through 12 rules he has established. For example, he explained that we’re not used to sitting at a desk, that we’re used to exercise and that the brain craves this experience. He said he has a treadmill in his office and does some work on it. It’s a cool book and it’s great at combining science and the real world.”
