Ryan Lundquist has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant at Snohomish County Fire District 7. Lundquist began working for the district as a resident firefighter in 1997 and was hired full time in 2000. He is a certified paramedic and is a specially trained member of the department’s technical rescue team. Lundquist graduated from Cascade High School in Everett in 1995.
Dan Barrington has been hired as assistant vice president and retail office manager for the Edmonds office of Horizon Bank. He has more than six years financial experience and worked most recently as assistant vice president and banking center manager for Bank of America.

Hyundai of Everett has been named to the Hyundai Board of Excellence, a national network of recognized dealers. The local dealership recently achieved Silver level status through sales numbers and customer satisfaction reports.
Skookum Brewery has opened at 19529 17th Drive NE, west of I-5 south of Island Crossing near Silvana. Owners are Ron Walcher and his wife Jackie Jenkins.
S.D. Deacon Corp. of Washington has received a 2007 Excellence in Construction award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington. S.D. Deacon received the award for interior improvement or renovation of more than $10 million for its work in the $21.9 million renovation and expansion of the Everett Mall.
ITT Technical Institute in Everett has scheduled an open house for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 1615 75th St. SW, just off Seaway Boulevard. Instructors will be on hand to offer information about degree programs.

In celebration of Earth Day, four AAA-approved auto repair business in Snohomish County are set to collect used lead-acid vehicle batteries and remove switches that contain mercury from vehicles as part of an AAA event. The seventh annual Great Battery Round Up and Mercury Switch Out program is April 16 through 27. Each battery collected generates a monetary donation to an environmental charity.
