Seattle-based Filson opens 1st Michigan store in Detroit

DETROIT — Seattle-based outfitter Filson is opening its first Michigan store in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood.

The Detroit location is Filson’s tenth retail store. Founded in 1897, Filson in 2012 became part of the same family of companies as Shinola, which makes handcrafted wristwatches in Detroit. The new Filson store is located on the same block as Shinola.

The 1,100-square foot Filson store includes apparel, bags and accessories. Events to celebrate the opening take place on Saturday and Sunday.
