The new marina planned by the Port of Everett will also have new rates and fees.
The marina, expected to open next summer with more than 150 permanent slips, is intended to attract larger and fancier vessels than the existing marina.
As such, it will offer new services, such as beefed-up electrical service, high-speed Internet access, cable television, dock boxes and pump-out service.
The new services will come with a new fee – $40 a month.
There will also be monthly fees based on the lengths of the vessels, expected to be from 40 feet to 70 feet. A few ties on the end of the marina’s piers will accommodate yachts up to 140 feet.
The new marina rates will range from $8.86 per foot each month for a 40-foot slip to $11.69 per foot for a 70-foot slip. When you add the 12.84 percent state leasehold tax and the $40 monthly fee, that amounts to $439.90 for a 40-footer and $963.37 for a 70-footer.
The rates were set based on comparisons with existing marinas and will be modified if necessary to be competitive in the market, officials said.
“For the amenities that this new marina offers, the prices are comparable to the existing marina,” port commissioner Don Hopkins said. Hopkins is a boat owner and a longtime tenant in the existing marina.
