Veer 4G vs. Infuse 4G: In battle of big vs. small, neither is a winner

The Veer 4G from Hewlett-Packard Co. and the Infuse 4G from Samsung Electronics Co. are on opposite ends of the size spectrum. The Veer is cute and tiny, with a 2.6-inch screen that slides up to reveal a keyboard, while the Infuse is large and thin, with a 4.5-inch screen.

The Veer’s screen seemed too small, and it felt clumsy in the hand. The Infuse is a great media player but felt massive as a phone.

The Veer costs $99 with a two-year service contract and the Infuse $199.99 with two year contract.

The verdict: The Veer is adorable, and the Infuse has an excellent display. Still, both felt too extreme to replace a medium-sized phone.
