Every year The Daily Herald takes nominations and lets readers vote for the Best of Snohomish County Awards. There are dozens of categories, but here are the 2022 top choices for best bakery:

First place: Snohomish Bakery

The Snohomish Bakery at First & Union is in the heart of downtown Snohomish and has been operating for over 17 years. They have it all with a bakery, café, restaurant and bar. Some of their services include handmade breads and pastries, soups, sandwiches, salads, limited breakfast, coffee. Their most popular offerings are the pastries and breads. Stop by to try their authentic Jewish Rye and Pumpernickel.

Second place: Despi Delite

Third place: Hammond Bread

Island County suspends food inspections amid complaints

The decision came after about 30 restaurateurs complained about the food inspector. Inspections are expected to fully resume next week.
