Plenty of party options in Seattle to bring in the new year

The clock is ticking down toward New Year’s Eve. Now is the time to book a ticket to a special concert before time runs out on you, and the rest of 2010.
Here’s a sampling of some of the musical parties planned. Hangover medication not included in the price of admission.
The punk group X has a full night of entertainment planned at The Moore. It will perform its album, “Los Angeles,” in its entirety. The album was ranked by Rolling Stone among the top 500 ever made.
X also will screen its film, “X, The Unheard Music,” and it plans a set of its greatest hits.
The band has been around since the late 1970s, but its music and energy will propel you into 2011.

The Crocodile presents a night of hip hop, pop, electronic and pulsing dance rhythms with Fresh Espresso, Head Like a Kite and Concours d’Elegance. The big ball will drop, and at this show, everyone will bop.

Epidemic Music presents Seattle’s own punk superstars Fall From Grace. In case you don’t remember, they won a recording contract on “Bodog Music Battle of the Bands” back in 2004, beating out 7,000 other contestants. They’re appearing with Urban Collapse, SuPeRFeKtA, No Ground and Blue Helix.

Remix master Morgan Page headlines USC Events and Insomniac’s Resolution New Year’s Eve 2011. It’s be a night of hard thumping, house, trance and dance music. Page is joined by Johnny Monsoon, Sean Majors, Westside Legacy and Kryspin.

Close out the year with a bang, and spend New Year’s Eve with The Dusty 45s, a local roots band. They’ll play an early, all-ages, show and then kick off a countdown for 21 and over folk later in the evening.

Make the final night of 2010 a Latin fused funky night of rhythm with the Grammy-award winning sounds of Poncho Sanchez and his band. It’s a little bit of salsa, a little bit of straight-ahead jazz and a whole lot of fun.
