Hunt for a pumpkin: Pumpkin patches and corn mazes are open for the fall season. You can get in cheaper with early-bird pricing through Oct. 7. Check out our list and get the details here.

Eye some glass: If you prefer a longer-lasting pumpkin, the Schack Art Center is inviting families to pick a glass pumpkin during Schack-toberfest, an art and harvest-themed festival at Schack Art Center in downtown Everett. The festival runs from 10 to 5 p.m. Friday; 10 to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Schack, 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Learn more about it in our story here.

Get to work: Or at least get your brain working at the Everett Fall Home Show. More than 200 vendors, many of them local, will be there, offering products and services at the three-day event, which begins Friday. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Comcast Arena. Admission is $7 for adults, $6.50 for seniors and free for ages 16 and younger. Find a feline friend: The Everett Animal Shelter is holding a cat adoption event Sunday. There will be feline tarot card readings, face-painting and crafts for kids, and more. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the shelter, 333 Smith Island Road. Details are on our Fur &Feathers blog.

Look up: Watch a B-25 and Il-2 soar across the skies, plus guest appearances by a Tigercat and P-51 Mustang at the Flying Heritage Collection’s final Free Fly Day of the year, Saturday at noon at Paine Field. Learn more at flyingheritage.com.

Find your artistic side: The Imagine Inn Dare To Draw celebrates young artists at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish. Admission is $6. See “Cinderella” before her carriage turns into a pumpkin. Pacific Northwest Ballet presents the storybook ballet by Kent Stowell. The final performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 1 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St., Seattle. Nature photography at its best: The photographs are part of the Burke Museum’s exhibit of the winners of the International Conservation Photography Awards. More than 75 photos were chosen from more than 1,500 images submitted by amateur and professional photographers from all over the world. The exhibit runs through Nov. 25 at the Burke Museum on the University of Washington campus. Details are in our story here.

Partake in Oktoberfest: A fundraiser for the Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce features a Bier and Wine Garden staffed by Diamond Knot and Fennette Cellars, evening entertainment and the return of the Root Bier Garden for the kids along with a magic show.
